Good Luck to you...I have been looking since last May about relocating...Calif...Ariz..Nevada...to the point I think my head is going to explode. There are alot of good/honest people on these forums...hopefully you will get some help....Money is my biggest problem.......Good Luck Sorry I can't help but just wanted to let you know I too am wondering what the nursing scene is like out there......

The nursing industry is tough to guage right now. There are roughly 12 hospitals in the valley and in my opinion that is 2 or 3 too many. There are many patients without insurance right now and the hospitals are eating the cost. The end result is for the staff to do more with less. Hours are cut and for those that are still working they pick up many extra patients/tasks/assigments. There are lots of layoffs, pay freezes, benefits being cut, etc. going on. Also in response to your LPN specific question, I don't know of many positions for an LPN in the hospital setting anymore. They are more common in long term care and private physician offices.
