Good morning,

Like the majority of the posters here, my wife and I are planning our move to Las Vegas (Anthem or somewhere in the SE or SW, actually). She is finishing her pre-reqs for the nursing program here at CCRI in Rhode Island and is hoping to transfer to a school in the Las Vegas area to complete the RN program. It seems like the College of Southern Nevada is a viable option for us, but we are looking for any insights that you may have regarding that or other local schools. We just got back from a 7 day stay with friends and, although we had planned on moving out there after she was done with school, we'd like to consider this option. Any thoughts or local perspective would be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

Ryan

Avoid the fly by night private schools like the plague. They cost upwards of $40,000 and could leave her high and dry without a degree. Stick to CSN or UNLV.

We would never consider those.. one of our local "business" schools just closed their doors and screwed everyone. I am wondering about the differences between CSN, UNLV and the other schools in the area (if there are any).. thanks again for your help!

Go to UNLV. Take SG's advice.

Back in 1999 there was a 2-3 year waiting list for the RN program at UNLV and CCSN. That's why I came back to NJ. She might have a hard time.

There was a waiting list to even APPLY to the program. And this was 13 years ago.
