Holy crap! In-n-out pays 10 an hour? to start? That seems a little expensive for fast food.

I'm not trying to crush your dream, or anything, but if you have enough cash to get you through an initial rough period...your chances will be so much better for success out there. And the good thing is...let's say things did work out there for you immediately...having the extra cash is not a bad problem (or problem at all,) right?

I always stressed to my own kids growing up...prepare for the worst. That way, if it happens, you'll be able to handle it. If all goes well right away...then its all gravy!

At your age...I bet a year seems like a real long time. But when you look back 5 years from now, you'll be amazed how fast the years went by.

Good luck.

Man! that is good advice. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Yeah, In-N-Out pays well for a fast food joint. They are a private company, so maybe they would rather have good employees than have a high turn over rate. Starbucks pays well too.. i think in the same range or more.

Yeah I was shocked too. Thats what they advertise on their employment site. So at least I always have something to fall back on if this whole college and Law Enfoecement thing doesn't pan out. Their General managers make 6 figures.
