Spent some time researching & calling pain docs.

Vitals. Com doesn't narrow field enough. There are tons of them
In Vegas yet lots online elsewhere can't find good doc for chronic
Pain.

Anyone here familiar w/ severe arthritis & back problems.

Do not want multiple procedures just someone not afraid
To treat advAnced conditions.

Thanks.

I can't vouch for this place, but someone gave it a good review on yelp.

Las Vegas Pain Institute & Medical Center - Las Vegas, NV

All I did was type in las vegas pain on google search, and different websites came up. The same place as above, but it's Henderson location, did not get a good review.

The other thing I can think of is to call the major hospitals and ask if they can refer a doctor or a pain clinic.

After you get a few places to check, call each one and ask them specific questions, such as how soon can you be seen, how many doctors work there and what is their background, do they utilize certain procedures that you may want them to perform, etc. Also google each specific doctor and see if you can get any additional information on them.

Good luck.

Thanks. Trying w/hospitals may be a good
Place to begin. The key may be finding
Someone "chatty".

There is such a long list that there has got
To be a way to whittle it down.

Things seem tough in LV on this score!

Found an online site that sells named of
Pain clinics !

Thumbs down Avoid LV Pain Center!!!

you'll get treated, sure. as long as you have insurance coverage. and don't be afraid to ask to see credentials of the people working on you. Pretty on the outside, shoddy behind the scene.

Contracted w/Medicare). Staff friendly.

Records & will review to see if they can "help
Me". Haven't done so yet, was hoping for more
Personal suggestions.

Brookshire & gnoyski no longer seeing outpatients.

Found drs. Burkhead (innovative pain center)

Smile LV pain institute

Wow. Just off phone w/ LV pain institute.
Told me to just make an appt when moved
Here. Said all docs do same thing (no specialties)
& rotate among 3 clinics.

Will not know if they can treat until I get there.

Was also told do not treat w/medication alone.
Don't know if that's true. Asked representative
How they would know that without seeing
Someone. She did not seem to understand
That someone w/arthritis & neuropathy for 30
Years is different than someone who injured
His/back.

Will keep looking. Procedures make lots of $$$$$$

I think you will have a hard time finding a pain management doctor who will just write prescriptions for a controlled substance and not offer alternative therapy to cope with the pain. Most state medical boards have strict rules regarding pain management. In the state of Texas you would have to sign a pain management contract with the doctor and agree to drug testing (your expense) at the treating doctor's discretion.

Many doctors in Texas have been fined and sanctioned for what the Texas Medical Board deems injudicious, non-therapeutic prescribing.

Yes, I am aware of contracts & urine tests.
I just choose to not have implant.

With systemic pain (residual from arthrits &
Neuritis treatment ) you would need 5-7
Of them in your body.

Unfortunately, I have had this condition for
30 yrs & it's defenerative.

Many people have similar there must be
A few doctors who treat them.
