I dont know him... and I play pretty much all the time all over town. But that's not saying much, I don't know a lot of people.

Ahh, TBC ... the man, the myth, the legend.

Lots of words can be used to describe him. Nit. Tilt Machine. Racist. Paranoid.

Check out his blog at tbc's blog about grinding low stakes poker if you want an, um, interesting read. Be aware that he's autistic & it factors into some of his perceptions of reality.

I've played with him a few times & will say he's probably misunderstood by most people. That said, it doesn't get him a pass for occasional racist comments & rants at the tables - it seems sometimes he falls back on his autism as a 'get out of he-l-l free card'. Having not checked in on him in some time, I'll say it's a bad sign for him if he's playing VBJ. That's long been his achilles heel where he'd dump money while on tilt from poker. If he could just game-select 1-2 NL games & play his usual nitty style without going on tilt, he'd be fine. The problem is he can't; he'll overbet QQ & run into AA, then blowing off tons more money on machines. I had a recent stretch where I ran QQ into AA SIX TIMES IN A ROW (meaning 6 consecutive times I had QQ the other player had exactly AA - I never sucked out); if I responded like Tony, I'd be broke right now.

Read his blog if you have the time & inclination. Some of the religious & ideological views he has intertwined with his poker rationalizations are fascinating. I hope for his sake he figures it out, but it's not a good sign if he's grinding VBJ. He has a kid back in Kansas that deserves better.

Haven't played poker in years, but have lived here most of my life and never heard of him. Glad to hear we still have some local characters though. Although ya gotta feel sorry for them, they keep things interesting. Every town has at least one local character. We have at least three don't we?
