First, assuming your history with Wynn-Macau is good and you have (or at least they think you have) lost a lot of money there, make sure Wynn-LV makes the connection to that history (and they likely will even with no effort on your part). I would assume you will be wiring the $1MM front money to Wynn in advance, and that will certainly get their attention and the welcome mat out for you before you even make your first bet.

My answers to your questions, given your stated level of play, with the assumption you will play several hrs per day:

1. Rooms, meals, and show tix will certainly be comped and will not put much dent in what the casinos will likely be willing to comp at your level of play. You need to think even bigger, especially just after a big losing session if you have one. Ask for things like shopping sprees and airfare reimbursement as well. Ask your host, or the concierge once he becomes aware of your status, discreetly about a high class escort. Since we're talking about Wynn, they may not provide it directly, but they will at least provide you with a contact or point you in the right direction.

Never be shy about asking for anything. Worst thing that can happen is they say no, and if you haven't yet reached the point that they say no, you've left money on the table.

2. Tipping is strictly a matter of personal preference and I'm sure you will get wide ranging advice, but I hope you aren't talking about tipping 10% of every single winning hand. That's way too much IMO. First, understand that no matter how much you tip, it won't be enough in most dealer's eyes. My suggestion is if you win a few hands in a row or an exceptionally large hand, throw the dealer a reasonable bone. At the end of the session or dealer's shift, tip him adjusted relative to how well you have done over all that shift/session, or in other words, you'd still tip him a little even if you have lost over all, but it's somewhat customary to tip more if you have won big.

3. Yes, as long as you stay on the strip. But keep in mind that in some areas a block or two can make a world of difference. I would not suggest you stray off of the strip on foot since you don't know your way around. Take a cab or have the Wynn comp you a limo ride (you should still tip the limo driver) to your destination if you want to go somewhere even a short distance from the strip.

4. I am not knowledgeable/experienced in this area, but I'd venture a guess that at $5k/nt you can get most anything you want.

5. Casinos and people are friendly to anyone with money. They discriminate against those that do not have money. Casino personnel will be your best friends as long as you have money and they will hardly give you the time of day once you have run out of money. It makes no difference if you are American, Chinese, or a purple alien from Mars.

6. When you flash/spend substantial money around LV, don't worry about finding girls... they will find you. I would be very careful about picking up a random girl in a club, but not out of fear they are undercover police. You are begging to get rolled IMO if you pick up a random girl, especially as an obvious tourist flashing a lot of money. Again, not really my area of experience, but I would let the club host/Maitre D' know that I was interested in being joined by classy company, but prefer they help keep the trash away as much as possible, along with a generous tip of course, and see where that goes.

I would not trust any recommendation by a cabbie. They are notoriously much more interested in steering you to places/people that give them the biggest kickbacks than to the places that best fit your needs.

He said $1MM total bankroll, not per session, and usually "only" bets $1k per hand, though occasionally more. He is a long way from "whale" status, but he will be considered a high roller even at the upscale LV strip places like Wynn, provided that he does gamble several hrs per day.

Besides the bet size, putting $1MM on deposit in front money will mean a lot as well, as the casino will see that potential and be licking their chops to get it.

You shouldn't draw conclusions solely based on 3 visits as that's simply too small of sample size to be meaningful, but nonetheless you are correct that the upscale LV Strip places typically have a little worse odds on most games. Hey, they gotta pay for all that extravagance somehow, right?

I'm not sure what games you play, but here's some old data done by Michael Shackleford. It only applies to nickel slots, and I think was from 2002, but it will give you an idea of the differences at many places and the best that I could find quickly... Nickel slot odds by casino.

Often the table games rules aren't as good either on the strip compared to many other places. On blackjack for example, you should never play at tables that only pay 6-5 on blackjacks, and also try to avoid bad rules like no doubling after splits, dealer hits soft 17, etc as much as you can.

You make a very good point that players should play at places where the size of their play will be appreciated (i.e. rewarded with comps) if they are interested in maximizing value. For example, many upscale LV strip places won't even rate your table play unless you are betting at least $25/hand. You are welcome to bet say $20/hand until the cows come home, but you will earn ZERO comps on that play. But at a smaller place, betting $20/hand earns decent comp value. Another thing low rollers should do to maximize comps is sign up for players cards and play a little at a lot of places instead of concentrating their play at one place. Your mailbox will soon be stuffed with more offers than you can ever use.

If he's playing Baccarat, that game has the same odds everywhere. Single 0 roulette is what it is. And at the high dollar limits ($100+ per hand, I bet the Blackjack rules are even okay. At $1000 per hand, the rules may even be negotiable. I don't know Pai Gow.

At $1000 a hand anything, they'll give him anything he wants, comp-wise. They may even give him a rebate on his losses.

He should arrange a host before he gets there, and have his Macau host set that up (they most likely would be happy to.) His rating will likely carry over directly.
