I use baby oil after I shower and wipe the oil off along with the water when I dry off. That's works fine for me. Not sure about the nose bleeds though.

Every time I have visited Las Vegas, including this most recent time, I got a nose bleed within 24 hours.
...which went away in a few hours.

Lotions are mostly water anyway, so I found remaining well-hydrated was more important than anything.

What's the difference between Vegas and Phoenix?

Nearly 1000 feet in elevation difference (Vegas is higher). Vegas is in the Mojave Desert and Phoenix is in the Sonoran Desert.

My face got pretty beat up and some skin peeled during my Vegas trip last time. Didn't happen on my first Vegas trip, though.

Phoenix is 10 degrees hotter on average than us because of the lower elevation, they're even dryer than we are too.

^^ Yes. Vegas is a hot oven, but Phoenix is a broiler at times. The Sonoran is a wetter desert than the Mojave (wetter as deserts go), but you wouldn't know it when you step off of a plane in Phoenix. The heat hits you in the face like a punch. The Bullhead City area (across the river from Laughlin, NV) is even worse.

It may not be the best habitat for you though. How about the South Pacific?

i just moved here from florida a few weeks ago so i had to adjust to the lack of humidity...when i first got here my nose was very dry & did bleed a little. it still does a bit but not as bad as when i first got here, guess i'm getting used to it. as for lotion i only use it after a shower & it doesn't take long for it to dry so u don't have to worry about being greasy. i would drink lots of water & use chapstick. the thing u have to watch out for though is getting zapped all the time! every day whether its in the house or outside i get shocked because of the dry air. still trying to get used to that anyways good luck to you & i wouldn't stress about it =)

Regarding the static electricity, I find it can help to touch a wall or something to ground yourself before touching a light switch, etc.
