State Farm (and I don't know if any other companies are doing it) have that new program where you hook up a device to your car and if you drive safely you can get pretty steep discounts (up to 50%!)

Yes indeed. So many variables out there. Soon you will have to submit a photo for a quote. The uglier you are, the better the discount.

Assuming unattractive people drive better.

Vegas is high, due to the high amount of thefts, drunk driving, and break ins. But when my mom switched to State Farm, her's went a little down. When I left and moved to Virginia last summer.. wow My insurance dropped $60 /month. Summerlin is high, because it has been known to have many break-ins and thefts.. The best is SW Vegas, because it's the farthest from the hoods and the worst congestion. UNLV area is one of the highest areas for insurance...

My rates are ludicrous but they're not much higher than they were in California maybe its because of the SW address. Registration was a few times higher, but we wont get started on that.

NEED to shop it. Get estimates from at least 5 or 6 companies. My experience is that you will find a 30% difference in price from the highest to lowest price. Do not go for the cheapest insurance, need to protect yourself and assets. With a 13 year old car you probably do not want collision

Your mileage may vary but call AMICA to get a quote from them. I had Farm Bureau insurance my whole life until I moved to Nevada. Previously lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Idaho & Utah. F.B. isn't in NV so I had to find new insurance. Good luck. My insurance went way up when I moved here also. I have great credit, great driving record etc...

We have found American National to be the cheapest and have had it for years. But recently, due to a significant B-Day one of us had last month, it went up $38 a month.

We like it that if you have no claims they give you a big refund at the end of the policy year.

I was with State Farm for a few years, lousy. I dropped them, never got assistance when I needed it. Now I'm with Liberty Mutual, my coverage is better and cheaper compared to lousy State Farm.
