Hello,
Can anyone share some info regarding what deposits are for electric, gas, water, etc. for the Las Vegas/Henderson area for a home (not an apartment)? We lived in NV several years ago, but have since moved out of state and are looking to move back next month. We are just trying to get an idea so we can add them into our expenses....
Thanks in advance!!

NV Energy

How does NV Energy determine the amount of the deposit?

Deposits are an average of the last 12 months of service at the address. If your residence does not have previous billing history, we charge $100 per service.

Will waive for auto payment or good credit letter from prior utility.

SW Gas

They wil also waive for a utility letter.

Others are small change if any

LVOC, is this good credit letter from past utility something that most utilities are accustomed
to being asked for? Wondered if this can be requested from past utility company(s) in advance
of moving? Thanks.

It is an automated thing from many utilities so i would expect it to be widespread.

I would think that since most utility companies have to send final bills that they would only provide info regarding payment history up to the disconnect, but I could be wrong.

We just moved into our new place in April. We didn't have to put a deposit for NV Energy- I'm assuming due to good credit. For gas, we had to pay $65.

RachelLynn - Did they add it to your first bill or did you have to pay it up front? I've seen it done both ways....

Yes, that's what I did for my electric and gas. Water, they checked my credit report. I didn't have to pay any deposits.

They added it to my first bill, which ended up only being a few billing days.
