I have it. Made a thread about it during the holidays, can't find it on my phone though.

Easily helps us save money.

If your house gets too hot when they turn it on are you still able to override it without penalty? My wife has her office in a west facing room and sometimes the system we have now, NVEnergy just cuts off your A/C, she gets cranky and picks on me.

Don't worry, you can always override the settings. A temp override through the thermostat or a permanent override through the website portal.

My condo unit is surrounded by mature trees and I even planted more drought tolerant trees to give shade not only to my home but in the area. NV Energy and I do not see eye to eye, I don't need their gadget. Hahaha! Of all the units in my corner of the condo complex, I have the lowest reading on the meter.

They keep sending me things in the mail to sign up, then I call them and they say my meter doesn't qualify.

We have the coolshare program which is the precursor to the mpowered thingy. The thermostat is nice, that's for sure.

Problem is, we use our AC system so infrequently that it doesn't translate into any savings. The free smart thermostats were a welcome addition, though. We can override any "energy events." But again, that is a moot point because we are NEVER using AC when they have these events -- because we're also on Time of Use and use almost no power from 1pm to 7pm during the summer months. Swamp coolers draw next to nothing, compared to the AC system. And on those rare humid hot days, we blast AC until 1 pm, then shut the house down tight as a drum until 7 pm. We can keep the house below 85f that way and keep the bills down below $100/month.

The fact that this is the coolest May since we've moved here is a welcome bonus. I'm sure NVenergy will be asking for a rate hike because of the lack of electrical use this month. :-(
