I used to have stock in both companies. Pretty safe bets.

Good, perhaps this will delay us selling it to China like everything else.

Yes I am bitter.

I find these "Warren Buffett is doing X" to be quite amusing. Sure he probably signed off on the deal, but I highly doubt he went to the table pounding his fist saying we need to buy NV Energy! When you have cash generating businesses the only thing you can do with the proceeds is buy more cash generating assets and this one must have been the best available choice.

I wish they would lower the bills. I had to laugh when they were interviewing the head of NVenergy and he was saying that they provide 'affordable' electricity to everyone. What a crock.

Don't be surprised how hands on Warren is especially since he paid over $5 Billion for this purchase. If you look at the transition NVE is planning on about getting rid of the coal fired plants I am sure Warren has investments or ownership in the companies that will produce the replacement equipment or he has plans to purchase them. Does he make these investments to make Money of course!!!!!!!! he sunk Billions in Bank of America and was turning a profit of over $800 million a day from it. BOA had something like 3 billion shares of stock on the market so if you buy all of it and the stock goes up a few cents times 3 billion look at the profit you make. This Turbo stock is what is driving the market and causing it to swing up and down too bad it forces the small investor out of the picture and makes it very risky to invest especially if it is your 401-K for retirement. I will say this much about Warren he had enough guts to stand up and admit the Tax codes in this country is wrong and he does not pay enough taxes for the money he makes. Other Billion airs like the crooks David and Charles Koch went nuts about what he said and tried to do a smear campaign against him. Too bad considering the Koch boys are worth over $30 billion each and crying they want more and we need to pay more taxes so they can. I just hope it is a win win situation for all of us in Nevada.
