I checked out the many complexes on E. Harmon and they're literally blocks away from the Strip but OMG.... who they have for residents - crackheads, literally - I saw them. 15 mins driving here can be a lot of distance - for example you pretty much fly to Chinatown at 45mph.

My main requirements are:

1) Furnished
2) Garage parking
3) Gym
Optional: gated preferred.

My Price Range $500-$1500 for studio or 1BR.

That's it. I'm not asking for much. If you have a personal experience with the property that would be amazing and so appreciated!

P.S. I'm aware of Meridian Condos on Koval - don't really dig em.

Yes, there are plenty of decent rentals to choose from 15 min drive N S W E from the Strip.

I live on the East side only 4 miles from the strip,Airport and etc many nice places around here and neighborhoods. The closer you get to the strip the more run down it gets. Get a good real estate agent and try them for a rental place.

Look to rent a condo in the Park Avenue / Manhattan complexes on the south strip (LV Blvd, down near South Point casino.) Well within your price range. If traffic isn't bad on LV Blvd, easily a 10 minute drive. If The Strip is slammed, there's a back way to the strip that usually has little traffic.

In addition to those two complexes, there are few others in the area.

Minimum crackheads. And having non-strip prices for food and stores would nice too.

How do I find a good one? I looked on Yelp but they have 4 reviews at most...

I can only suggest areas I'm familiar with no specific complexes, but I would look west of 15 south of Tropicana. If you're careful you can look around Flamingo like MacGeek suggested but know that the area around the strip is pretty low rent. I don't know the crime stats, but every time I drive by there to go to the Asian market it looks pretty poor. Nothing wrong with that but with poverty comes problems.

Take a look at South rainbow below Warm Springs down to 160. One of my employees had a nice 1 bed in a complex there for $850. Lots of shopping on Rainbow.
