"It might be called the Vegas Itch.

And for many drivers headed to Sin City from Southern California and the coast, the obvious scratch is to gun the engine down the long incline along Interstate 15 into Primm and across the Nevada border, with the lights of Las Vegas shimmering over the next ocher-colored mountain or two.

Along the 35 miles between Primm and the Strip, many vehicles are clocked at 100 mph or more. The average speed for vehicles pulled over is about 95 mph, 25 mph over the posted limit."

They should just get rid of the speed limit, and let them go as fast as they want.

How can they make any money doing that?

Since I am a person who drives the speed limit, I can attest that this is pretty much how it is *everywhere* not just Las Vegas. People have no regard for traffic laws any more. Every time I hear about a horrible accident I just shrug my shoulders and figure they probably deserved it.

I guarantee that the average speed where you are is not even close to what happens here or in California. Have you ever driven to California from vegas? You should try it just stay on the right lane.

I stay within 10 mph of the speed limit, within 5 in Henderson. The police are definitely vigilant! We had been here 3 days when my wife got pulled over on Wigwam. We hadn't realized that a street that wide and that straight was only a 35 mph road. She's 38 and had never been pulled over in her life. Welcome to Henderson! LOL

The stretch on 15 by the M Resort headed into town is a gold mine for the po-po on Friday afternoons. I've seen 8-10 motocycle cops pulling people over by the droves. Welcome to Las Vegas!

you'd be surprised how far off some of those speedometers are in cars.

I would agree that some of the roads really don't need speed limits (road from LV to Laughlin, for instance). But if they took the speed limits away, you'd get every kid on a crotch rocket thinking that just because the bike CAN go 180, they have the skills to RIDE 180. Then there would be roadkill of the rather large size strewn about. Remember when Montana went with the "Reasonable and Prudent" speed limit (a.k.a. no speed limit) back in the 90s and exotic car clubs would travel there simply to drive 200mph?
