I've lived here about six months and with football season starting up and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any Steelers bars in Las Vegas, the closer to Henderson the better.

Honestly, I believe that finding an appropriate Steeler bar requires some diligence. You can use that list as a guide, but I'd guess that no more than half the bars on it are legit. For starters, some of them might not even be in business anymore. I saw a couple of bars in Georgia listed that I know have gone out of business. And if they are open, there's still a difference between a true Steeler bar and just a bar where a few Steeler fans happen to watch. The following are red flags:

I've looked up some of the bars in other states (primarily Florida), and I've been disappointed in some of them. It's not necessarily a Steeler bar just because a Steeler fan and a few of his friends like to watch the games there. In order to be legit, Steeler fans have to be at least an obvious plurality, if not the majority, and the game audio has to be heard throughout most of the bar. Anything less is unacceptable. Steeler- and Pittsburgh-related shwag is a bonus.

Most, if not all, the bars listed for Las Vegas are open, and that list is probably incomplete. But let's face it, we're a long ways from Pittsburgh.

My friend who is a diehard Pats fan moved to North Carolina. He started the Patriots Fan Club of NC and found a bar that was willing to serve as their home base. His group has grown to about 75, about 50 of whom go to this same bar every Sunday when the Pats play. That's 50 more people than the bar would have had, so they hung up some jerseys, etc, and now it's the Patriots HQ of North Carolina. If you can't find a good Steelers bar, make one!
