no worries asking for a specific route.

The problem with taking the strip is that if there's any traffic at all it's gonna cost you more and also cost the cabbie at least one more ride because the time it takes to sit in traffic eats into his schedule but the extra fare doesn't cover his lost tip from an extra ride. Then there's the reality that you still can't really see much from a car unless it's a convertible.

It really is best to let them quickly take you where you're going and then walk the strip.

I would take people down the strip if they requested but inevitably right as we sat at LVB and Flamingo they would be fed up with the traffic and ask me to go the back way...too late, we're in it and the next place to escape to the back roads is after the mess...no sense then.

A lot of these guys are booking 400~ a day. I'm lucky to break 300 even on the days where I do not sit and wait, steady running people back and forth. How the hell are they doing it?

post where you hang out. i used to be a regular at the bellagio, encore, airport. of course the goal is to stay loaded. easier said than done. look for short lines, especially when you drop on the drive up. when you drop at harrah's you pass the taxi line before you make the left turn into the drop - an example. keep your head on a swivel. when you have a load, you can gain good intel as you drive around and may see short lines. a lot of it is luck, but strategy is also king.

From 9- I leave, the bellagio is empty, cab wise. I can run right through the tunnel and load up. If I drop off at a hotel, and there is 1-2 cabs, I'll jump in line. If it's moving across the street, I'll go there. I do look as I'm driving.

That being said, Tuesday, I was loaded 85% of the time. I was literally picking up where I dropped off 9 out of 10 times. NO WAIT. Booked 320.
I was rolling. Pick up at a hotel, drop off at convention center, before I'm unloaded, people are trying to get into the cab, take them to their hotel, as their unloading, more people are trying to get in, back to the convention center.

I drove 100~ miles, 80~ of them were paid miles.
Everyone else that day were at 400-480.
