Hi guys, I am going to move to Vegas (from Asia) at the end of this month. My plan is to get a hotel and a rental car for 3 days or so, get a car and find an apt (month to month lease since it will be a short stay) then get a house while I am staying in the apt. So maybe 1 month if everything goes smoothly up to 3 months I guess.

So I gonna use hotels.com , or orbitz to book hotel

How about for apartments? or do you have any other suggestions guest house or something, I gonna want it furnished, have internet, cable of course. Since I will be getting a house soon and will be moving out in a month or 3. Don't wanna buy bed, chairs etc.

need an agent too, probably gonna interview a few in Vegas or check online.

Need a cell phone too, but I don't talk much on the phone, maybe just buy only the phone and get unlimited data every month ?

areas that I should stay away from in metro vegas?

thanks guys

Budget Suites or Siegel at the low end. La Quinta or Resident Inn up market. I would avoid the Siegel Suites except the one on Boulder Highway. The Budget Suites on Trop is OK as is the one on Rancho.

There are also a half dozen other Resident Inn kind of places.

The nicer areas are in the donut suburbs...avoid the NE quadrant. Basically stay outside or near 215.

I hope my research helps...

If you have an unblocked GMS cell phone you might find Solavei a good service . $50 a month no contract Unlimited 4g and Minutes ( in and out ). You can order your sim when you get there. In the mean time you can order a ReadySim ( on amazon ) you can get a prepaid sim for $35 that will give your Unlimited Minutes and 1GB of 4g.

This is what i am planning to do .

Golden Gate is on the Fremont Street Experience. It's the last casino on the corner of Main and Fremont. We've never stayed there, but we like the casino. Very small, but lots of history (and the restaurant is GREAT). If you're just looking for a bed in which to crash, can't beat $11.

Might be a good idea to check with a RE agent before you show up. There are some threads on the home purchase experience currently going on in LV.

I stayed there once and it was the worst, smallest, dirtiest, loudest hotel room I've ever had. I've heard they've done some renovations since then, but I wouldn't trust it.

I personally wouldn't stay there, even without seeing the rooms. But for $11?? LOL

Personally I would stay at the GN again if I was the OP. We always had a nice room there, and I think it's still in the $50/night range.

Agreed. Golden Nugget is the best value for your money downtown. There are some nicely upgraded rooms at the Plaza as well as El Cortez (surprisingly), but I think that would break the budget.
