I miss the water and green grass. But, I knew what I was getting into when I came out here.

Las Vegas is one place where the grass is definitely not greener!

We've been down this road before...I believe its more like 6,000 in/3,000 out per month for a net annual gain of 36,000. But I'll leave it to olecapt to cite more specific stats and sources.

The operation at UNLV that tracks that stuff is calling for 2.7% growth. On 2 million that is about 54,000. Say 50,000 so we don't machine butter.

2.7% over what period of time? Are they saying growth has slowed or is going to slow?

You might find some info here on the state demographer's site. I can't download it but it might be useful to some of you. Current Demographic Estimates and Projections (http://www.nsbdc.org/what/data_statistics/gis/demographic/ - broken link)
