Well I went downtown Saturday around 12:30 PM and I was not going to the LIB event and surprise every parking garage as charging $20.00 or up to park. One thing if you were going to the event but how about others who just go to Fremont ST for other stuff and how about the employees who work there who use these parking garages of the casinos. I felt like I got ambushed.

What about valet? That's free (except the $2 tip). Were all the valets closed?

The further away you parked from the main event, the cheaper(and more unsecured) it gets.

I went to Golden Gate for breakfast at 10:30a. It's my usual valet spot, and had no problem. I wanted to be as far away from the LIB insanity as possible, but wanted to show our friends FSE.

There was official parking at $40/2 days so it was equal but it was at world market center and leaving was easy. Friends who parked downtown complained about traffic lol

I did not pay the $20.00 I instead used the parking meter parking on Main street but that only allows you to park for one hour at a time so such was life that day. The valet parking was only for hotel guest which is not unusual on a weekend. My point of the post was that no information was given out about the cost of parking to the general public before the event and many people were surprised by it and I just feel it was one of those things like we got you now what are you going to do if you need to park.

We went downtown to Fremont street for our anniversary on Saturday afternoon, which we always do every year. But with the "Life is beautiful" festival going on, all the parking was as Irishspy said, $20 and up. So we left and went elsewhere. Parking is usually just $3 at Main street station, go in, validate the ticket, they give back the $3, so it's free. They should have let everyone know they were going to get in on the price gouging, but you don't know til you get there. cre8lite, my husband will also not valet park. He does not want anyone driving the car but him.

Got to love price gouging. I don't let people drive my cars either.
