The die is cast.
We will be relocating to Las Vegas in early Feb.

Do the local utilities demand deposits for service.
They do not here in MN.

Also what unexpected costs can you warn me about.
I know reg you car can be expensive. However we are selling our cars here and will be buying used when we arrive.
I will be looking for a trusted mechanic to inspect what we plan to buy.
Any suggestions?

Looking at renting a house for the first year or so till we settle in.

They use your credit score to judge whether to charge you a deposit or not when connecting most of the utilities.

When I moved here in 2009, Southwest Gas was the only utility that made me post a deposit. After one year, they refunded my deposit on my monthly gas bill.

We didn't have to pay any deposits on our utilities. Hope that you are very happy here.

We had to pay a 160.00 deposit for consumers, just because our old place in Michigan utilities were included, so they did not have a payment history to look at for us. But once we set up auto pay they refund it. But no other deposits were needed due to our credit history anywhere else. Our car registration & new licenses ran almost 300, but our car is a 2008. Good luck!
