Hello all!

First time poster here... my fiance and I (both transplants from the Northeast) have been in Vegas for ~3 months and are really sick of our carpeted apartment. It's a cheap carpet that sheds a lot, and I often end up with cuts on my feet from loose carpet staples. Plus, the air out here is dry + dusty enough without carpet lint everywhere!

Any idea where we can find a place with all tile or wood flooring? (Laminate could be okay, too.) Flexible budget, preferably under $900 for 1-2 bedrooms. The place needs to be pet-friendly, too; we have a dog who will be ~30 lbs when fully grown.

Any recommendations or landlord referrals much appreciated!

I doubt apartments will have what you are looking for as they replace their floors with the cheapest stuff because of the amount of abuse they are guaranteed to have. Look for a condo or a house.

Where? There are 40 or so suitable units on the west side.

Ivoc - We are in the southwest right now, but we're open to any decent neighborhood--southeast, spring valley, summerlin/lakes could all work. If it's too far north, it'll make the commutes pretty long, though Do you have any specific landlords or property management groups to recommend? I'm having trouble finding any, but maybe it's just a matter of getting on the phone and asking.

ddrhazy - A house/condo rental is definitely a possibility, but we're probably not staying long enough to take out a mortgage on anything. I would *love* to find an independent landlord with a small house or half a duplex to rent, but it requires a lot of sifting...the market is pretty much dominated by the big RE companies. CL turns up a lot of dead ends and sketchy lease-to-own offers. The condos I've looked at have mostly offered interiors very similar to the apartments I've looked at. Am I just not looking in the right places?
