So it seems the marijuana smoking employee who lives and works in my complex did NOT learn from his experience. Since the last incident, he's smoked, at least where I can smell it in my unit, a total of three times, including a few hours ago. The first two times were in the wee hours of the morning and by the time the sun rose, it was a non issue. However, the one that was a few hours ago infuriated me, because despite his promise to not let it happen again, it has happened again.

Since the first incident, the manager that I took it to, has been terminated for non related reasons. This new manager who took her place, I'm told, is a stickler for policy and even though I tried to be discreet when letting the office manager know I wanted to be moved, she overheard me and explained that they have a zero tolerance policy for drugs. She said that employees are held to the same standards as the tenants. I'm torn because my goal is never to have anyone lose their livelihood even though he should know what he is doing is wrong. I can't unring the bell and I fear tomorrow is not going to be a good day for him.

He actually called in sick today and so he was home all day. I am starting to have a bit of anxiety because I don't want any kind of retaliation to me or my child or my car. I am praying that they will be able to handle it with minimal drama and if they can keep my name out of it, that would be great. He will likely surmise that it was me, but if he's not outright told, he will only be speculating as there are several neighbors in our pod.

I mentioned in the other thread that this might not end well. Things can escalate when you never intend them to. Get out of there. If this guy is so defiant that he's willing to lose his home and job over your legitimate complaints, then there's no telling what he'll do.

I totally agree. Make management move you or let you out of your lease.

He might think the other person who was fired told on him.

^^ I wish they'd just legalize it so the guy who wants to smoke out could do it outside where he wouldn't have to bother his neighbor with it. My uncle had cancer, thus a medical MJ card. He smoked in his back yard or patio, and no one cared. By forcing it underground, you get situations like the OP finds herself in.

Yeah, but what if he gets nasty now that the chickens have come home to roost? She has to live by this guy. (and if they kick him out, he knows where she lives)

Place sounds kind of seedy (no pun intended) anyway. Maybe the OP will be more satisfied with a sex offender moving in, or an IV drug user. I would have told him to open his window, no harm done. Maybe it's MMJ and not illegal. I've smelled a billion cigarettes through condo walls. Never called the swat team. Part of being a mature adult is working things out with people, without calling the cops. My dad's neighbor approached him one time and said he had teenage kids and they weren't perfect, but if he ever had a problem, to please just come talk face to face and they would take care of it. 10 years; no problems.

Sounds great. Did you read the earlier thread where she *did* try to work it out with him?
