Are there any common areas that people go to ride motorcycles, four wheelers, dune buggies etc... out in the desert here? I'm doing a photography project for school and wanted to get some pics of people riding in the desert. Anyone know of the best places to spot off road riders around the LV area?

I often see people out near Primm doing such activities.

Now that the weather is cooling down they'll probably start testing the trophy trucks out at Jean. Last year there were trucks there every weekend when I went riding, but not so much anymore. South Exit park across from the lake bed on the right. Pro teams test there all the time its a trip watching trucks fly down whooped out roads at 100mph.

Although APEX is probably your best bet since so many people go there or Boulder MX, here's a list:

Nevada ATV Trails

Here's an organization I'm a member of and they're having a race on the 22nd but it's in BFE:

My wife and I met a very nice couple and their two teenage son's. They have been doing some paint work on our house throughout this past year. They all ride Nellis Dunes/APEX several times a week all year round schedule permitting. They ride both dirt bikes and dune buggies. They say the area is quite popular.

try Dumont Dunes (on the back road to Baker, thru Shoshone) or Big Dune near Amargosa

Good links and good information. Thank you. It's funny how many different things are here in the area that I never even know about until I seek information.

Dumont and Armigosa are the two places the guys at work talk about the most. Apex is popular because it is so close.

Of course, when I get a quad or dune buggy, I'll just go right behind my house. Those trails will take me all the way to lake mead.
