Hi Everyone! I'm moving to Las Vegas and am not sure where I should live. I know there are already a lot of threads like this, but I was hoping some of you could give me some specific places I may want to look at based on my individual situation.

I have a job lined up and I want to live closer to my work, which is on Charleston Blvd between Buffalo and Rainbow. I'm a single girl, no kids or attachments. I like to have fun, but I'm not looking for a super party-town (hence the reason I don't want to live near the strip). Basically, I want to live somewhere nice with lots of shops, restaurants, and things to do nearby (some place with a really good walkscore). I'm willing to drive if I want to go to the strip or go clubbing. I've definitely been looking at the Summerlin area and other places on the westside, but I was hoping for some more specific neighborhoods or even some suggestions of specific apartment complexes. Unfortunately Henderson is too far from my work, otherwise I would consider that too.

Technically I could afford a nice apartment, but I'm just getting out of school and I really want to save up a down payment for a house/condo. Therefore, I really don't want to spend too much on rent. I am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment with a washer/dryer in unit. I don't have any pets. Looking to pay somewhere between $500-700/month. Doesn't need to be big, just nice, clean, and crime-free

Any help/information you guys could give me would be great! Thanks a bunch!!

My aunt just moved to La Posada on Lake Mead and Buffalo. I think it might fit the bill for you.

Just confine your search to Charleston Blvd between Rainbow and Fort Apache.

Many units and many condos. If you can't get your price just go north on Buffalo. There are a few hundred opportunities between Charleston and Vegas. Stay west of Rainbow. And mostly you will end up on or north of Charleston. You are settling in the valley of cheap rentals. Work it and you will do fine.
