Hello my fellow city data people. I hope that today is treating you well in the LV. I have a question I'm hoping some of you can help me with. I've been looking at various salaries for different jobs here in LV. According to the CCSD website the starting salary of a CCSD teacher with a college degree is $34,684. If that is gross pay would the net pay be around $1000 every two weeks or $500 a week? Is there a quick formula that you can use to calculate net pay from the gross pay? Thx and have a good one.

I agree teachers should be paid better; however, also keep in mind that they are paid 12 months but only work 9

And the practicality of the position offers little opportunity for gainful employment in the time off. So basically they are paid an annual salary with the ability to take limited employment in the summer or the time off.

The only good employment which is available to the teacher is teaching...which is not in general very available in the summer.

Not unless they can teach kids that ALOT is not a word....

A lot of teachers allot some time to teach their students there are rules of grammar.

I know a handful of teachers who tutor in the summer. They're not getting rich doing it, but it seems flexible time wise. High school teachers also have the option of teaching summer school. Some just use it as a long vacation.

Can some more people beside IVOC actually give some numerical answers to my question instead of trying to turn this into a political debate?
