Stay away from all pawn shops. Try Sahara Coins. They should weigh your gold and give you a fair price based upon melt value. Call them on the phone and they should be able to tell you how much per gram they are paying for scrap gold based upon the karat - 10k, 14k, 18k. Don't expect premiums unless you have some unique jewelry.

Depends on different factors.....if they are between 1949-1963 Franklins that are well circulated with normal wear and tear and look like this below, they can go for about 15 bucks or more. Ironically I was just at a coin place today trying to figure out my values. Ebay is the best place to know because they are always current on values.

About 6 years ago my old roommate received a brand new gold necklace with the $899.99 price tag still on it(with receipt in box) He needed the money more than the necklace so I had to drive him around town to see what he could get for it. After about seven different pawn shops, the most he could get for it was $300. And this was with price tag and original receipt.

That actually sounds fair. I don't buy anything for resale on which I can't AT LEAST triple my money. It's just good business sense. The seller takes all of the risk. We have to advertise, store it, insure it, in the hopes that someone wants that EXACT thing.
