I'm 22 years old and would be fine living in a decent 1br. But i'm looking to spend 600 a month that is safe. Is it possible? Now i'm paying 580 for a 1920s studio in Cap Hill and that is the cheapest i've ever seen over here. I will miss snowboarding but I know you have the Ski Vegas resort about 45 minutes from downtown, i'm not expecting much but how is it? Is the job market still bad? I'm really looking to start up my own online business ventures and am looking for a great city with a lot to do and good weather..

Don't get too excited about Ski Vegas. It's a place you might hit once or twice a year. Most who enjoy skiing drive 3 hours to go to Utah or So Cal.

Unless you have a secured job, you need to bring 6-9 months living expenses. Jobs are tough without Vegas experience. 600 gets you a 1 br in a tough neighborhood

You are getting a great deal for a studio in Capitol Hill.

I don't know if you know this but everyone in California who does want to move wants to be on CO! If you've been there for a while you may not know what you have. Perhaps speak to people who have moved there from warmer climates & ask why they did move. More than the skiing probably.
But if you want to try, absolutely have $
For living expenses after move related costs. I'm not sure who posted the amt of $ spent while looking for a job here but it adds up quickly.
Best of luck.

I moved from Denver to LV a few years ago and loved it.
There's plenty of work in LV but none of it that pays very well...OTOH the COL is better than CO and there's no state income tax which helps.

I left LV but miss it...my time there helped me accomplish what I needed to accomplish.
