Went to the valley of fire on Saturday. Magnificent!
Probably 3 weeks too early for blooming but it was still
Amazing. To think that people have lived there way before
The Europeans ever came over!

Thanks for the advice.

Yep...one of my favorite places!
I find it amazing how many locals have never been out there but that keeps the crowds down...very peaceful out there.

YES!!!!!
Way better pics than I have! Used my camera on phone & sunlight faded out a lot of the pictures. These are much better.

Yes, I love red rock! I want to get out there for a sun rise or sunset.
I will try to post pictures....haven't done that on these forums.

Ok - how do I get pics from the phone to my post!
What's the URL????

To really see the desert in bloom, go to Death Valley. April might be best time, but we've seen a lot of them in May too. Not sure how early it starts. Actually this was in March of '08.

Death Valley wildflower report:
Death Valley Wildflower Report - DesertUSA

doesn't sound like it'll be a good year to view wildflowers there, as they didn't get much rain this last year.
