To those who have experience buying foreclosures, I'm looking for a trusted inspector or renovation contractor I can hire for a home inspection. The property is REO; the bank is allowing walkthroughs before it goes up for auction online.

I'd also appreciate any advice on the process. The property is about 3500sf, on 1.5 acres, on well and septic (neither can be inspected), built in the early 2000s. If it was in tip-top shape, it would sell in the $600k range. It is not a very good candidate for rental or flipping, most appropriate for a long-term single family. Our finances would enable us to pay cash for the auction amount (at least, based on our preliminary valuation estimate, before inspecting with a professional), but would strap us for repairs, so we would plan to finance at least a small percentage.

Thanks for your feedback.
