So I have 6000 dollars saved up and I wanna move to north las Vegas. I do not want to live in the high crime parts of north Las Vegas. So can anyone tell me the nicer areas? I'm looking at apartments on Craig ranch golf course and commerce? I really like the apartments there! Any help would be useful. Such as places to avoid, things to watch out for. Thanks!

Where are you now located?
Do you have any skills or post secondary education?
Do you have a job?
Do you know anyone in Clark county?
Have you ever been to Las Vegas before?
Will you be coming alone?
Do you have a supportive family where you are now?
What are some of your reasons for wanting to move to the area?
Do you have reliable transportation?
What advice has your family given to you so far regarding this move?

These are all important questions to be answered. Having said that, if this is part of your life's dream, I encourage you to pursue it with eyes open. Take advantage of the knowledge here on this forum. These people here know what they are doing and have excellent experiences you can learn from. They will give respectful answers if you are ready to make this move.

If you were my child (mine are all grown and gone) I would tell you not to put the cart before the horse. A good education and a strong work ethic are your tickets to make your dreams come true. But if you have all your ducks in a row, so to speak, then go for it. Few 19 year olds have the wisdom and life experiences to make a move like this alone. Be sure you put as many "chips" in your corner as possible to "increase your odds" of success.

Good Luck ....................

Wait a couple of years. As has been discussed in other threads here, being 21 opens up your employment opportunities significantly.

For NLV, the rule is north of Craig and west of I-15. The further north and west the better. The area you are describing is on the cusp.

Hate to point this out again to the OP but this is GOOD advice.

I moved to NYC on my own at 17...there was A LOT I wasn't able to do there...stayed 2 years or so but very likely would have stayed longer had I moved out there at 21 instead.

Still love that city...just too much stuff these days to move back!

Go in the Air Force for 4 years. Learn a marketable skill then hit the work force. If you plan to go to school then never mind. You can go in do the 4 and maybe work at Nellis.

I'm moving in a year and a half giving me time to save more and finish some college courses. So it's not like I'm leaving soon. I will be 21 when I move. I wanted that to be the plan.

Well, I'd start with North Las Vegas as a place to avoid.
