The LV City Council just voted to all them on the streets on downtown Las Vegas.

My question is – who's gonna clean up the horse puckey?

More @ Horse-drawn carriages might be in downtown Las Vegas

So they are going to wear horse diapers and can't be used if its over 90 degrees.

Still a terrible idea in my opinion...the bans in other cities reflect this.

I would not be happy to see this happen.

This has been figured out. They have a catcher device on the back of the hitch that connects the horse to the carriage.

Don't be so sure NY will get rid of them. There is a lot of pushback to Bla's plan.

I don't like the idea of horse-drawn carriages downtown. Too many crazy drivers, too much noise, too many drunken idiots. I grew up with stables at my house and have been a horse guy for many years, and I don't think the horses would adapt well to the environment.

There are plenty of horses in my area of town, and people ride them all over the place (at least as far as Sloan). It's an odd day indeed if I don't see a horse being ridden down Hollywood Blvd.

I don't agree with them being downtown either -- traffic, drunks, idiots. Also, so what if they aren't going to work when the weather is higher than 90f. They will still be stuck someplace nearby in the heat. I have zero confidence that a horse-drawn carriage business will be set up with the horses' well-being in mind.

And I don't care what kind of system they work up to deal with horse excrement -- there will be feces on the streets (and the associated flies and smell) if this happens.

Agreed. Horse drawn carriage is so nineteenth century.

But I would support a carriage pulled by two guys in a horse costume. Seems more the style of Vegas...

Saw this at a Renaissance Faire. 2 guys pulling a cart offering "taxi" rides They weren't in a horse costume, but seemed pretty entertaining!

Just goes to show the intelligence of the members of our illustrious City Council.
Maybe Mayor Goodman will have enough "horse sense" to deal with it.

I love the idea of horse people pulling the carriages. It would be a good alternative to the guys handing out the porn business cards. They could sprinkle the porn cards as they pull. That's vegas' version of street horse crap.
