Getting ready to build a master bed 300sq ft and looking for thoughts on a regular system (not mini split)
What are the brands to use in Vegas? I was interested in which brand is easier to repair/get parts for in Vegas.
My plans should be out of the Planning dept in about 4weeks. I had bid out generic unit for the plans but I don't want to install a piece of junk willing to pay a little extra. Is Carrier still a good brand? Thank you for your thoughts.

The problem with going split system on that room is, they only go down as low as 18,000 btu and thats way too large for a 300 square foot room.
This is why mini splits are so popular with small areas, you only need about 10,000 btu or less and not only are mini splits very efficent, they are also very quiet.

As far as large brands go, the brand of the unit is nowhere near important as the install. Carrier is ok but they do have their share of problems just like any brand but with Carrier, you are paying a lot for the name.
I install Goodman and although they are cheaper, I do a top notch install and have never had a problem with them, except for the occasional outdoor fan motor failure after 4 or 5 years.
Goodman and Amana are the same company.
Carrier, Bryant, Day and night and Payne are all the same company.
Tempstar is also part of the Carrier family.
Lennox, Ducane, Aireflo etc are all the same family
Trane and American standard are the same thing but one costs more than the other, go figure.
Rheem and Ruud are the same family.
York and Luxaire, same family.
