With this new change comes some headaches, that I do not think were thought through.

Make sure that if you live in a gated community, you call the HOA or the Management company and get them to change the phone number in the box, or people will not be able to get in. As service providers we have already encountered this several times this morning.

Also, I have our business phone that is forwarded to my cell, so that when I am not in the office I can get my calls. Make sure to undo the forwarding and then redo it with the 702. I learned that out the hard way, no call were getting to us on Saturday.

There are probably more, like the pharmacy that calls for the reminder for automatic refills, and so on. But these are the only ones I can think of right now.

I don't know about you, but this has been a pain in my a**, LOL!

Yes, when I am use to just dialing the number when calling customers. I will eventually get use to it, lol. But when you have been doing the same thing for 15 years, just an automatic for me to dial number.

Not only that, when we have to wait at the gate, to have the customer come down and open the gate with their clicker, because the number will not go through on the call box. When you have 20 houses a day, that can take a lot of time away from us actually doing work.

Ugh! Welcome to ten digit dialing! Do you have to dial a 1 as well? In Houston and DFW where there are 5-6 area codes, you didn't have to do a 1 first, but for some reason in Los Angeles, you do! It's an odd switch.

I thought we would have to dial the 1, but no. I am happy that we only have two so far. Not too bad, just will take awhile to get use too.

Just hoping that all the other problems will be taken care of quickly.

Welcome to 1995! Most of us have been in 10 digit dialing for decades.

Dialing the number really is not the problem, that just takes some time getting use to. It is the other stuff that was not thought of since they just made the change. Believe me, I know how to dial 10 digits, we have quite a few customers that have out of state numbers.

I just wanted to put this out there for the VEGAS residents, so they can make sure the changes are made in their community. I am sure there are plenty of people who may not be happy they have to go to the gate to let people inside their community.

Back home we had five digit dialing up until the 1990s. I really miss five digit dialing. For the longest time, the local hardware store, I kid you not, had a phone number of simply "6."

I'll bet the elderly are going absolutely loopers over this.
