Public I mean. I already did a search and sure enough, there are a ton of "all schools suck in CCSD" threads. Sorry, not going to take that as the answer. I'm willing to bet there are a few good elementaries; able to pay 1500 in rent for a house.

I think the information you want it here.

NSPF - List View - Clark

I mapped the hightest ranked elementary schools in Clark County. They were all in Henderson. You had to get down to #7 to get out of Henderson, and that one was in Summerlin.

@gaylord - We relcoated here from California for my son's 5th grade year. He attended Joseph Neal elementary school and for the most part it was a good experience. He maintained his high grades in-spite of moving to NV, new school, new friends etc. He also had a great teacher who really pushed him and challenged him. Don't know much about the rest of the school but it seemed pretty good. We leased a house in the area for $1,800 a mo. but I'm sure you could find something for $1,500.

The bonus is that we bought in the boundaries for the middle school Joseph Neal feeds too and it was just named a 5 star school this year! Need to look into this high school and see where they are . . .

Look on Zillow - zip code 89129 - they rate schools(one is rated a 10), and the houses are at 125. and up. Rent around 1100 plus.

You need to put boots on the ground and see the schools in person. Part of my research included visiting the zoned schools and speaking to assistant principals. Also watched parents drop off and pick their kids up too. You will be amazed how much can be learned by interaction and observation. The last part of my research was viewing the CCSD accountability reports and then I made a decision on where to purchase my home. BTW we are completely happy with our child's school and are appreciative of such a fine school/teachers.

My son went to David Cox in Green Valley (graduated 2007), it was a good school and I believe is rated 5 stars per the above.

I lived in zip code 89074, it is safe and the rents are reasonable, my five bed room house is renting for $1700.00

Go to greatschools dot org or get the app. They rate every school from 1-10 based on test performance and community rating as well. It's the best resource for comparing schools
