We all know there are water issues in NV, so do people think at some point in the future there will be water rations? If so would something like that cause a mass exodus from LV?

Raising buffet prices would cause a mass exodus. Banning smoking in casinos would cause a mass exodus. Charging for parking would cause a mass exodus.

Excuse me but some of us are new to Las Vegas and don't have real boots on the ground knowledge about the water situation. There's no need to be so rude.

Now that I have some feeling guilty on the real do people foresee a real water situation in say maybe 10 years?

Unless there is a prolonged increase in the Colorado snow pack, we will have to get water from somewhere. It's going to be very expensive - 10's and 20's billions plus. Perhaps it could be combined with a flood control project with another state like Idaho or Oregon. But the entire southwest has to have water.

Shouldn't all private and HOA lawns be banned?

If we're going to do that, shouldn't we start with golf courses and parks? That's where most of the water goes.

I think water is manageable because so much gets used for lawns and golf courses. If the cost of water increased 4x some people would just pay it, others would cut back and most would eventually switch to low use toilets, washing machines (clothes and dishes) and no lawn/minimal plant watering. Take away the landscape water use and we're good - unless the Colorado River gets goofed up in a big, unforeseen way.

I believe in human-caused climate change (yeah I went there) and the Summer temp. here will trend upwards. I wonder if there will be a compounding effect / vicious circle where the hotter it gets, more plants die (even natives) and surface moisture is reduced so it gets even hotter.

Huge El Nino coming this year. This will cause massive flooding and the end to our water problems.
