They do test for alcohol. They will administer a breath test if they suspect an employee is under the influence. That's one of the few ways they can actually fire a union cook.

Let's face it. The casinos don't really give a rodent's posterior about drug use. They give their tacit approval to all the drugs that happen in the clubs. (I am told that some clubs have bathrooms that aren't far removed from an opium den.)

What they care about is limiting liability. Where I work, employees can expect to be tested in order to be hired. And they can expect to be tested if they are involved in an accident which causes injury or property damage. (All the people whipping around the basement hallways in golf carts, for instance.)

The OP is exactly the kind of person the casinos are trying to screen out -- someone who puts a higher priority on drugs than anything else. Anyone who cannot be bothered to stay clean long enough to pass a drug test (and where I work, that means a hair test) is going to be a problem employee anyway.

If you can't stay off pot long enough to pass a pee test, you are pretty much unemployable here. Many if not most do hair tests now that show drug use for the past three months or more.

The dealership shaved my pits, and it was terrible for weeks.

The small privately owned business I worked for was hair and I believe it covered about 6 months. The pre-employment drug test was required by our workmans comp underwriter
There was no room for negotiation...if someone didn't pass they could not be hired PERIOD. Super frustrating to have someone apply who had an excellent work history and great resume only to have them not pass the test when they most likely were indeed not a regular user. This is why I won't even take one hit off a joint at a party...it would be just my luck that some dream position would pop up that I would be interested in that would require the test...that one hit sure wouldn't have seemed worth it.

I TOTALLY support drug screening...I'd really like to see it applied to welfare recipients as well but that is a whole different thread.

It's been tried. And it costs considerably more than it saves. It would be far better to screen members of Congress. And every state legislature. And all the governors. Make them submit to what they keep trying to do to the rest of us.

Same here. It was the easiest test I have ever taken.

Do dansers exotique get drug tested?

I wonder if anyone has gone in for a hair drug test and shaved *every* bit of hair off beforehand.

The pot test is not going to last. Only a matter of time before someone with a pot medical card sues for discrimination against the disabled. I don't think you can win now as the federal law still outlaws pot...but that is going to change someplace in the next decade. Or you are going to run into a state discrimination law in CA or Oregon.
