Anyone confused by the credit card prompts in a taxi should take the bus or walk, because they certainly won't be tech savvy enough to use the Lyft app.

I believe the screen on your credit card machine has 3 options for tips: 15%, 20%, 25%.
There is no option for ZERO tips. Can you please confirm?
If there is, I will tap on ZERO tips next time.
And if you have problem with ZERO tips, please call the taxi authority and file a complaint. Thank you.

But the consensus on this site is that cab drivers would be lucky to get people on this site in their cab. The people on this site see themselves as interesting high dollar earners. You don't think that's the case?

^^^^ Yeah, Uh-huh....and prejudge you, be bossy and whiny the whole trip, telling you the whole trip how bad cabbies are because of that one trip one time, complaining about the industry as a whole, complaining that no one built a monorail from their front door to exactly where they need to go and then stiff you for the tip....can't wait to miss three cheerful happy strip rides that tip to go way out of the money zone for that one!

LOL! You've obviously never been in the MGM parking garage!!

The replies from the naysayers on here is astounding.

Step one: Slide your credit/debit card.
Step two: Click on a designated tip amount shown (ours is 10, 20, 30 or 40%).. Below that is a large button that says "OTHER"... That is where you can enter in whatever you want, including 0... Which people do quite often when they want to give a cash tip.
Step three: The amount screen shows up. It will display the amount for the ride, the amount YOU entered in for the tip and the credit card fee. So your final amount will be at the bottom of the screen and you have to click confirm.

The only thing different from a regular credit/debit transaction machine that you would see at a Walgreens or Smiths is that you will have the option to enter in a tip.

Someone actually posted that it's dark and disorienting after a plane ride and we (cabbies) want riders to be confused... lol seriously, is that what this "QUICK, COME UP WITH ANYTHING YOU CAN TO HATE ON THE CABS" thread has come to?

How are any of you able to use your card when you pump gas? When it asks for your zip code, do you look around dumbfounded? "Well... Didn't see that curveball coming... Guess I'll run it down to Empty and then blame the gas station for trying to confuse me"

First time we visited Las Vegas, we stayed at TI. We got taken the scenic route........... I had no idea we had been long hauled. The visitor shouldn't have to know these things. It leaves a sour taste that the first person you interact with in LV, cheats you.

I have already compared this to hypothetical cheating bank tellers -- "it's up to the customer to catch us if we're cheating." That doesn't make any flippin' sense, either. It's a good thing that tellers lose their job if they're caught cheating. Cabbies just get a fine. And their cab company (which is completely complicit, otherwise there would be stronger anti-cheating measures) gets no fine at all. Cabbies brought this on themselves -- the dishonest ones, at least.

But the parrots on this thread are just going to keep squawking. "Rarrrrwk! Call the Taxi Authority! Uber is bad! Cabbies are being victimized! Polly wanna cracker!"

At least this will die down as the new paradigm unfolds.
