uber drivers are still considered contractors, not employees, thus the cali ruling on the subject:

California labor commission rules Uber drivers are employees (update: Uber responds)

Nothing to do with pathogens. Both contractor AND contractee are equally as responsible for clean-up and disposal.

Sure it does. If you're a contractor that requires less oversight by the company, uber, than if you're an employee - like a cabbie. .....

Wrong. To clean bio-hazard, you need to be gloved, masked, and have eye protection. The 'stuff' and all cleaning materials need to be placed into a red bag marked with 'bio-hazard,' then placed into a container marked 'bio-hazard,' and disposed of by a company licensed to dispose bio-hazard. The paperwork detailing everything MUST be kept 50 years.

ALL persons/entities involved are EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE. Fines start at $50,000.00 and can go up to millions with criminal charges if willful non-compliance occurs.

Try again. This is uber we're talking about, not yellow cab. You clean, they reimburse you later, if you're lucky.

I used Uber for the first time ever when I was in Los Angeles earlier today. It was much more efficient than I expected. First pickup was within five minutes, the second was within two minutes. Cheaper too. Both fares were a few bucks under the estimate. What a godsend...!!! I can't wait for it to get up and running here. It's going to be a huge hit.
