Looking at a couple apartment, anyone have info on Eagle Trace apartments and Portola Del Sol apartments? Several of us moving so everyone is looking at different apartments lol... Also my sister would like to know if there is a reasonable priced apartment with a vacation feel??? Of course like everyone our main concern is safety, two of us are single women and there are children to be concerned about as well.

Not a nice part of town. Look to the outskirts if possible.

Have you been to Las Vegas yet? There are hundreds and hundreds of apartment complexes.. I would recommend coming out for a week. Stay off-strip. Research online (all of the information is there if you look for it.. try the different rental sites, or just type "apartment las vegas" in Google). Bring out a list of a dozen or so apartments that fit into your price range. Then drive to them. Look at them during the day and at night. Check out the surroundings. Only you can determine if a place is "safe and nice".

What someone thinks is safe and nice for them may not be safe and nice for you, know what I mean?

Yes I have visited several times, only on the strip. I have researched using the crimemapping and thought that Cheyenne Villas were in a safe area, but then other say its not. So I'm very confused... We are planning a trip out there again at the end of July, unfortunately only for 3 days but we do want to check things out while we are there. However, since we are on limited time we want to narrow our search so we can be as effective as possible.

Crime mapping only goes so far. You will want to drive through the neighborhoods (the fact that you thought Cheyenne Villas was in a safe area is case in point).

We drove through neighborhoods on a visit here, so had a general idea of what part of town we wanted to live. Then we got with a realtor who would send us listings for rental homes in those areas. That was how were were able to do everything virtually sight unseen. But you need to see the neighborhoods first to know where you will be comfortable.

Ah, I was wondering if I was doing something wrong with the crime mapping or what... So ok, very good advice thank you. We will make a list of the ones we want to see and try to hit them all while we are there. Thank you
