I've known it's there for the 30+ years I've lived in Vegas. Even remember when it was so far out of town there were no streetlights to distract.

It also backs right up against the old airport. We did get to see some helicopters coming and going close up.

It's been there for the 50 years I've been here. There used to be several. One was on Cheyenne just east of Decatur on the opposite side of the NLV Airport. You can still see where it was. There was one on Boulder Highway where Boulder Station is now, and the Stardust Drive-in behind the old Stardust Hotel is now some nautical themed apartment complex. Later they built one at Lamb and Charleston which even later became an indoor theater.

I haven't been to one since the 80s when we would back the truck in and sit in the bed on lawn chairs. What do they do for speakers now? Think I'd rather see Jersey Boys in a theater with surround sound. I know the music makes the play. "Walk like a man, sing like a girl...."

On the bottom of the ticket it tells you what FM frequency to get the audio on your movie. Had no idea Boulder Station was built on top of a Drive In!

I remember when you used to have those thingies that you attached to your window. About 20 years ago I was at that drive-in watching a scary movie. I had one of those cheap, but delicious, burgers from the concession stand. I kind of held it out the window, and it was snatched from my hand. Scared me half to death, but it was only one of the resident hounds.

Anyone who has never been to a drive-in should definitely go. Preferably in October or March.

After reading your initial post, we decided to check it out last night. We had a great time. FYI, Tuesday is family night and tickets are only $5/person. Thanks for sharing!

We went Tuesday as well. Parked next to a family with giant speakers, so no need to use our radio
