We are moving to Las Vegas on August 1st. I accepted a teaching position and my husband will be on the extra board, dealing cards, at Bally's and Paris.
We have leased a condo in the 89142 area code and are looking for a daycare near our home that does drop in hours for a 2 1/2 year old. I have found some that do half days, but the problem is, we only know what I will be working. He could have any shift and be called in at any time.
I thought about just putting our son in full time, but what's the point of paying for him to go to daycare if my husband is not called in.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thank you.

(For most of the good day cares in LV)If you can not predict a set schedule for the day care to watch your kids, you might as well(and probably will have to) pay for the full week. Some of my in-laws are in the same boat as you. They really only need 2-3 days of child care each week but it varies from Mon-Wed or Wed-Fri. So they just pay for Mon-Fri since the day care does not play that bouncing around on days schedule.

Try paying for a set schedule of Tue-Thur. See how that works out. My in-laws tried that and it was the most doable schedule. Eventually there were schedule complications so they went with a full week schedule.

Good luck.

MGM has day care centers for employees -- even those on the extra board. Just drop the kids off on the way to work. Find out if Caesar's has a similar setup.
