How could we forget Zion Nation Park. It's only 3 or 3½ hours from here. Most of the drive is spectacular too. You might need a campground reservation, or at least get there early on a Friday night.

While I agree that Zion is incredible, it can be hot at this time of year. If you are willing to drive a little over 4 hours, you can go to Bryce Canyon which perhaps has some of the most unique rock formations you will see anywhere, the hoodoos. Daytime highs over the next 10 days are forecast to be in the high 70s to low 80s. Camping information can be found here: Campgrounds - Bryce Canyon National Park (U.S. National Park Service).

Mt. Charleston is open for camping!!!! Well, two campsites are: Hilltop and Fletcher View. The rest appear to still be closed due to the fire last year. Here is the link to the site where they update the statuses: Current Conditions
