Im thinking of relocating to LV early spring/late winter of this coming year(to me thats feb/mar). Unless this venture turns into something special i dont see myself staying through the following winter (nov). I have lived in tourist towns the majority of my adult life and i hate them with a passion.... But i'm working on it.

I have been invited to help with an upstart company (these guys think ahead, which is why I'm considering it), so needless to say i will need to find part time work. Im also a fan of the sportsbook.

Im hoping that you will be able to provide me with some thoughts or tips....
-Good/safe neighborhoods in a $1000-1200/mth range. House preferred. 6mo lease?
-Some tips on part time jobs if they exist.
-good sportbooks.
-best time of year to rent a place (price).
-how much should i have in the bank before the move?
-anything else i have forgot

I have been to vegas before and it was hot, in april. But the lack of humidity made it tolerable. Not looking forward to june or july. I also have a BS; Communication - broadcasting

With the little i have shared, i would greatly appreciate any thoughts. Even if the thought is "stay away!"

Thanks again....

part time jobs are plentiful depending on experience but low paying.
6mo lease at 1200 will be tough.. doubt highly a house.. closer to 1500 and then again the 6 month will hurt.
sportsbooks … all over the place but I'm not a bettor so others will chime in
rent does not vary much at any specific time of the year.. make sure you have decent credit and background
bring 5k minimum and thats no gambling or fancy fun

if you thought that june july was hot, you forgot august and september..

Credit and background are good, and the part time job would be more along the lines of supplementing what little i will be making. But its good to know they are plentiful.
Any thoughts on a neighborhood, house or not. I plan on having my car and i dont mind a bit of a commute (15 or so miles) to "vegas proper." I am one of those safe neighborhood people. Not cop on every corner but i dont want to have to lock and load before bed each night either. Ive heard horror stories about north vegas, and some hit or miss things about henderson.

Thanks again for your thoughts....

You are referring to north town. North Las Vegas is decent north of Craig, west of 215.. Centennial/ losee is fine

Basically the entire West side of the city is very nice... running along the 215 freeway from extreme Northwest to extreme Southwest corners. In those areas, you do not need to worry about crime or anything like that... more like having some granny weave into your lane in her '88 Cutlass... but I would take that any day over a sleazy neighborhood.
Not sure what other "tourist towns" you have lived in before, but I find Vegas to be unique, even with the Strip/Fremont areas. It's a whole different city down there and locals RARELY go there. The nice thing about the way the entertainment district is set up is that there are no municipal buildings in the Strip area (no DMVs, banks, grocery stores). No real reason to go down there unless you're out to have a good time. So that makes it easy to stay away from there if it's not what you're down with.
There are a lot of good sportsbooks in the Strip area... nothing really stands out when I think of the Downtown/Fremont area. Sometimes when I go to place a bet on something, I stay away from the Strip itself and go to the places just off of it. LVH/Westgate is one that stands out... that is on Paradise Road next to the Convention Center. Rio and Palms are also nice options on Flamingo Road.
If you find yourself on the far West side of town, Red Rock Resort has a fantastic Sportsbook.

Hope this helps and good luck on the bets!

Sports book.....
LVH is the best.
Cantor Gaming ones and Stations Casinos and Southpoint aren't bad either. (Meaning for odds not necessarily for environment).
You can also go online.
As a general rule, don't bother with the big strip ones...too much vig.
