Reminds me of the days before the polio vaccine. We used to go to the red level response some summers. Close the pools and ban large gatherings.

My mother was convinced that it did little good. She is convinced we all got it over those summers but that the paralytic form was simply rare. We had one kid in the extended neighborhood who actually came down with the bad stuff and ended up with some permanent paralysis of a leg.

If the scientific evidence demonstrates that Ebola is communicable enough that it warrants the shut down of large parts of air transportation, then so be it. But it has to be proven through scientific rigor.
