10 years ago I lived at Altaire off Flamingo and Rainbow. I've been offered a job back to LV and was wondering about the new areas that have opened up...especially nice condos but where there would be public transportation available. No kids so schools aren't a consideration.

If anyone could give me a comparison on Summerlin/Henderson/Green Valley/and where ever you think is great, I would appreciate it.

Public transportation is of interest, because once my car ended up in the shop there and I was stranded!! Never again. Thank you and Happy New Year!

I would say any areas that are close to the RTC transit center..... with that said I would choose the Centennial Hills area. There's an express bus from Centennial Hills to downtown where you can connect to UNLV and/or the Strip and/or Henderson. The Centennial Hills area is newish, nice shops, nice people, lots of amenities and fairly safe.

Have you considered living close to your job? Economically and time wise , that would make the most sense. My commute is 10 minutes. If I had to fight traffic or sit on a bus for 45+ minutes everyday, twice a day; I wouldn't be a happy commuter. You can also go the the RTC website and map out routes. Last year I participated in a RTC survey on my travel habits as they are trying to improve their routes. You will also be able to see where all of the transfer stations are relative to where you be making the most trips.
