I'm good with any view that includes Stratosphere. It's cool to watch because fireworks not only go up from the top, they cascade down from the top as well. It's really something to see.

Didn't the show used to be 10-12 minutes long?

fireworks are a very pretty waste of resources and bad for the environment/people's health
but, if that's what it takes to get people to spend money...

one of the better shows i've seen was inside the thomas and mack during a rebels game

An hour of your time for that 7 minutes. I'm staying home, too.
If only... Traffic and parking will be fierce!

"An hour of your time"...funny just getting to the Strip will take at least an hour, of course depending on where you live. They are starting the closures at 5pm, by around 6pm if you are not parked you will have an issue finding parking. Also the traffic around the Strip, since the strip will be closed will be horrific. Just getting to the area of the Strip will be hard.

Seven minutes seems short but if you look at most of the cities in the US having celebrations 7 minutes is not abnormal.

Since my birth 32 years ago, I have watched fireworks every new years and 4th of July, except for new years 2000. There was a South Park marathon on, and I decided to watch that instead of ride my bike down to the lake (Florida) since my normal ride had to work. The ONLY shows that were less than 15 minutes were the ones here. Most of them, from OH, PA, NC, and FL, were 20 minutes plus. In fact, 2001, Lake Okeechobee, that show lasted 35 minutes. This is a town where cows literally outnumber people.

This is a city of 2 million with billion dollar casinos, you'd think they could at least muster a solid 15.

Next year, i think I am going to travel elsewhere.

They have the gates out, ready to lock down Las Vegas blvd. You will NOT be able to cross over. The few back ways are going to be jam packed. Just leaving a parking lot or parking garage will be a lengthy endeavor.

The Boston July 4th fireworks are a good hour long if you ever want to watch a length one.
