I use that as well, for home shaves. But sometimes I like to treat myself to a straight razor shave.

1. Hot lather. Hot lather is a true luxury. Sure, you can break out the brush and whip it up yourself, but unless you have a method to keep it hot, it cools down before your first pass is really done. After that, it's just tepid lather, which is not a luxury.

2. Straight razor. A good sharp straight razors will give you the closest shave possible, bar none. However, there is a learning curve to knowing how to handle one. A good barber gives you access to that skill level without actually investing the time and money to do it yourself.

3. Hot towel afterwards. This is just nice.

4. The result. Yeah, it's that smooth.

Barbicide is an EPA-approved hospital-grade disinfectant. I'm not worried.
