Broken glass is something you need to watch out for if you ride a bicycle in the neighborhoods...at least in the NW part of town.

Seems like people love breaking glass.

There are lots of bicycle trails. I've rode the river mountain trail (30 miles) and the Pittman wash trail. I see bicycles all the time on Charleston out near Red Rock.

Henderson has been vastly improving bicycle accessibility in the city. Pretty much every time a road is re-done they add a dedicated bike lane.

I think for recreational "bike friendliness" it's not that bad, but in terms of commuting by bicycle, it's definitely not there yet and I don't know if it ever will be. The climate just isn't conducive to commuting via bicycle.

Use Oakey or Alta going from Summerlin to Downton.

I got honked at and almost run off the road today slowing down for a bicyclist on Charleston. I also stopped to help a cyclist that was hit in a northwestern burb a couple of weeks ago. The short answer is "no".

Thanks for your compassion and help toward a fellow cyclist.

No, also not friendly to bus riders, walkers, or drivers.

Default bicyclists

There are many parks with bike paths. Too many people have been hit on the roads while on bikes. Its dangerous. Sorry.

Do miles and miles of recreational bike paths make a city bike friendly? IMO, no!

I just returned from a 5-day trip to Tucson which received a Platinum Award for being so bike friendly. Everywhere I drove, along just about every major avenue and street, there were bike lanes, well-marked!

When I see well-marked bike lanes along DI/Flamingo/Tropicana/the Strip, then I'll believe it!

Las Vegas can become bicycle friendly. Look what NYC has done in the last 24 months alone for cycling? If NYC can do it any city in the U.S. can do it.
