Hey everyone!

I am moving to Las Vegas in 6 weeks from North Carolinia. Me and my girlfriend are looking for some apartments on the internet but were trying to find out what part of Las Vegas has the less crime. I've researched Summerlin and Seven Hills and some say there good and bad? I guess my questions is what zip codes should I look up for a good apartment complex that will be safe for my girlfriend? Thanks Everyone!

Anything near or outside the 215 beltway should work for you. Convenience is an issue though. Do you know what side of the Valley you'll be working on?

Popular zip codes that offer a good combination of safety and location are 89123 (SE) and 89117 (West)

Here's a map (http://www.greatlasvegashomes.com/images/newzipcodemap.jpg - broken link)

Thanks for the info. Im moveing there for a new change in life and I will be working in a Golds or Powerhouse gym there. Anyone workout at either gym? My girlfriend will be working at Le Petite Academy so I am trying to find an apartment complex that will be convenient for both jobs. Thanks

I am just trying to see which section would be good to stay away from because Golds has several gyms, North, South, East, Southeast and Summerlin NW. Also I a post that someone said apartments on Decatur, Tropicana and Flamingo are good? Is this true?

La Petite Academy is hiring in smoke valley, spring valley and summerlin.

Whats everyones thoughts on Summerlin and the zip code for summerlin of the nicer areas?

Thanks everyone for the help!

These are all major streets that run the entire length of the Valley. Decatur runs N/S and Trop and Flamingo run E/W. They intersect near the center of the Valley, just west of the Strip.

Summerlin is a beautiful area, but also very expensive. If you end up living there, you'll surely like the area, and feel safe, but you might be frustrated by high rent and long commutes.

People live all over the Valley for a variety of reasons - the most common being safety, aesthetics, price and convenience. Check the rental ads on craigslist to get an idea of the prices for each particular area. I do agree with PString, though. You could do a lot worse than living and working in Summerlin. Try these zips 89145, 89128, 89134, 89144

You may not have a choice though, and if you're working in the SE, you don't want to be living in Summerlin no matter how nice your place is.

Thanks everyone for the input. I found quite a few jobs and apartments in these zip codes - 89134, 89108, 89145, 89144, 89128, 89107. Are these good zip codes to work in and live in? The travel doesnt look far between these zip codes.

I seen apartment prices between $650 - $900 a month for a 1 bedroom. Does that seem good or bad?

Thanks again.

89107 and 89108 require local knowledge. You ain't got local knowledge.

89117 and 89147 will work. As will the more southerly 89148, 89113, 89178 and 89179.
