Had the meeting about 40 people attended standing room only one hour and one half debate most of the people were against it. The BS the board tried to push down our throats from we the home owners would be responsible $$$ wise if some one got hit. Scare tactics and best of all the board members said we could not vote on this. Well that flew like a lead balloon so the board tabled it until our next meeting in 3 months hoping most folks will not come back. Next the abloishing of the gate code was another scare tactic with the president of the board saying how crime is on the rise in our area which it is not and it was brought out using the automatic call box to get entry by calling the home you want to go to only accepts 702 area code and none other so they the board do not want to upgrade our system. BUT Here is the SCAREY part a few weeks ago at 8:00 AM a homeless person was in our complex our President and Vice president went looking for him and the VP had his gun with him Instead of calling Metro these two dumb ass went out on a mission. That is scary knowing a person VP is running around with a gun. If I see him doing it I will call metro on him. So the saga continues until the next elections next Feb.

Why is a homeless person, or a person you may have assumed to be homeless, scarier than an armed HOA Nazi?

Any talk of electing a new board of directors for your HOA? When is the next election?

TB - Because the VP only threatens the bum, while he threatens Home Values.

I was wondering about how all this turned out. Thanks for the update.
As far as someone getting hit, I would assume that the insurance of the offender would be on the hook. It wouldn't matter if the incident occurred on public or private property.

That is why every HOA carries liability insurance. If your HOA does not, and if there were an accident, you could theoretically sue the board members individually for not doing their job... which, in turn, is why every HOA provides officers and directors liability insurance to protect the board members from such lawsuits.

If the HOA Nazi has a carry permit, he passed a background check. The vagrant? Probably not.

There is however a requirement that handguns be registered in Clark County.

And it is not without risk. Remember the AZ lawyer who got busted on the strip for wearing an empty holster? So yes it is legal if registered...but you should be careful about when and where.
