Scoop Baby, you're really bringing me down.

I think we can all agree that Scoop isn't the one to ask what makes Las Vegas special and unique. He'll knock it down and make it look like rubble.

After reading this thread last night I had this crazy blender of a dream. I was stuck living downtown in an all inclusive Disneyland resort hotel Vegas style with Elvis impersonators and show girls in full gear and a party all the time. After getting dragged into a whipped cream wrestling fight by a bunch of circus clowns with a guy who hosted the event in a fun pit like a ring leader I crawled out humiliated and looking for the showers and declared before everyone, "I need to get back to the daily grind!"

All the entertainment people turned towards me and took offense at this as I started to wipe myself off and put on my formal business suit. So I said, "I didn't mean to offend you. It's just I need to get back to living life working during the day like the rest of the world with everyday normal people."

Then some showgirls said if you don't think we don't work the daily grind at night and feel the same pressures as you in our industry then you're sorely mistaken. We may be different but we're the same as you. We have Elvis, Long live the King!" I think they said that last part as a battle cry of pride and to show they're even better than the typical normal everyday business person.

There is a lot going on in Vegas regarding more jobs coming to Vegas. Below is an article that recently addressed what's happening with jobs in Vegas.

Nevada still has 87,000 fewer jobs than it had in 2007, but the state is expected to return to its pre-recession high of nearly 1.4 million by mid-2016.

Scoop just curious, you seem like a pretty intelligent person but sound awfully cynical and spiteful towards Vegas in general. Why do you stay if you travel as much as you do?

Wouldn't be better to live somewhere that was not a giant adult amusement park for you? Or is there some underlying reason why you want to stay in vegas?

I've plastered my back story on this forum enough times. You can find it if it truly interests you. Suffice to say I made a deal, and staying in Las Vegas is part of that deal.

Hm, seems like a pretty bad deal. Life's too short for that cynicism :P

'Unique' is not necessarily 'good'. Once you consider that, Las Vegas is definitely unique, in both good ways and bad.
